Er war mit seinem Rocky Mountain &#8211; Bike mit BOB-Anh\u00e4nger von Whistler\/ BC nach San Francisco unterwegs, wo er einen Freund besuchen wollte. Ich verlie\u00df den Mendocino Abalone Campground um die Mittagszeit mit dem Ziel Westport. Am Nachmittag fuhr ein Landrover Defender Td5 mit 2 Overland Dachzelten mit italienischen Kennzeichen auf den Campground. Die f\u00fcnfk\u00f6pfige, italienische Familie aus Varese entschied sich aber weiterzufahren. Sie waren eine Woche nach mir in Halifax angekommen und auf dem Weg nach Panama. Dort wollten sie im August 2017 ihre Reise beenden und das Fahrzeug zur\u00fcck nach Hamburg verschiffen. Ihre n\u00e4chsten Reiseziele waren San Francisco und der Yosemite Nationalpark. So entschied ich mich, Callums Feuerholz f\u00fcr das Braten meiner Koteletts einzusetzen. Gleichzeitig kochte ich mir im Gritli ein Ratatouille und eine Portion Reis. Aufgrund der zubereiteten Menge war ich f\u00fcr die n\u00e4chsten 2 Tage versorgt. Nach dem Essen kam Rita am Campfire vorbei. Bei unserem Plausch gab sie mir einige wertvollen Tips f\u00fcr meinen San Francisco Besuch. Ich wollte aber, auch um dem Wetter auszuweichen, das bergige Hinterland erkunden. Auf dem Highway 128 verlie\u00df ich die K\u00fcste und fuhr durch zahlreiche Weinorte, wie Navarro, Philo, Boonville und Yorkville.<br \/>\nDie Weintrauben waren schon geerntet und das vielfarbige durchquerte ich den Kruse Rhododendron Nationalpark und fand in der Bodega Bay den angepeilten Campground. Die Dame am Empfang bedauerte, aber der Platz sei leider ausgebucht. Sie riet mir zur\u00fcck zur Wright Bay zu fahren und dort einen Overflow-Platz zu beziehen. Der Mann hatte ein Jahr in Basel gearbeitet, bevor sie sich entschieden, nach Kalifornien auszuwandern.
